1. CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM UPDATE

Carl writes:

Hi, everyone. Our customer service team has been beating our own best month-on-month. Our numbers show that we have an engaged team now more than ever. The survey comments that we’re getting from our members daily show how much effort and care our leaders and agents put into every customer interaction.

I’d like to give a special shout out to all the CS agents. I know the number of emails we’ve been getting these past few months have been increasing. Don’t worry, help is on the way!

We will continue to refine processes; we will continue to get your thoughts on how to make things easier for you, just like the OMS related suggestions; we will adjust our coaching and feedback frequencies to make sure everyone of you gets the support that you need.

Expect a lot of changes for the better in the upcoming weeks because, yes, we are not done yet and the best is yet to come. GO! GO! GO! TEAM!

Again, thank you to all CS representatives who interact with our members, it’s what you do day in, day out that makes our team soooo awesome!

2. STYLING TEAM UPDATE

Elaine writes:

The Styling Team has undergone a lot of changes over a small period of time. It’s amazing how you’re always able to overcome any obstacle thrown your way. We are styling 250,000 units or more per week now and have also ramped up our KPI goals to a more challenging scorecard. We are also about 98% done with updating all our process documents; big thanks to everyone who worked extra hard on this!

Kudos to the Styling team for remaining positive, flexible, and resilient to changes!

This job is not easy! It requires logical and analytical thinking. I know I like to joke around and quote “the hunger games” from time to time.  But, really, pat yourselves on the back because if you have lasted at least 3 months in styling, that says a lot about your character. Shout out to our current Junior and Regular stylists, you are doing a great job.

Roselle, Mia, and Henrietta continue to be good mentors and empower your individual teams. Colin Powel once said “Leadership is solving problems. The day soldiers stop bringing you their problems is the day you have stopped leading them. They have either lost confidence that you can help or conclude you do not care. Either case is a failure of leadership.”

Listen to your people. People management is one of the hardest jobs to learn because it requires both IQ and EQ. I’m so proud of how you guys developed into such intelligent and compassionate leaders. Getting to know your team is very important to do. Know their motivations.

I’m a believer that we can all learn from one another, nobody is perfect; it’s just a matter of communicating these differences properly that makes the magic happen.

Vina, Monique and Fhebie, our unsung heroes. Continue to train and hone your leadership skills, I see the hard work every day. It is very challenging to multitask your daily responsibilities and up-train, but you do it so well.  Remember to communicate with your team leader if ever the workload is too much. They can always re-adjust your growth plan if needed.

Our approvers, Daisy, Shirley, and Bryan — you guys are amazing, you style and approve daily! I just want you guys to know that you are appreciated so so so much.

The Emergency team, you always find a way to get it done – and done well! Thank you!

The Restyling team and Roselle – the team that never sleeps, always checking for errors past their appointed schedule. Thank you for being so adaptable and helpful. I appreciate you guys so much!

Goals will continue to advance as we scale up; it is important to keep tabs and look out for one another. Remain mature, professional, and open to feedback. Work smart and do not be afraid of challenges. And most importantly, remember, the way to achieve your success is to be willing to help somebody else first.

If I fail to mention anyone in this post, please know I am very proud and humbled to be part of this entire team. I know I can be a tough leader and often times push you out of your boundaries. Know that this comes from the heart because my priority is for your personal development. Doing one thing that scares you every day builds character and before you know it you’ve become a master of something. My aim is for you to be indispensable not just to Nadine West but to any industry as a whole.

Cheers everyone!

A day in the life of a stylist

3. WAREHOUSE TEAM UPDATE

Danielle writes:

“Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you are usually right.”

I am super proud to be leading a team that welcomes challenges with a can-do attitude.

What is our single biggest update? Going from 40,000 units to peaking at 60,000..so far!

Of course the team was stretched and we certainly encountered hurdles. If we pick the orders, can we ship them out? Do we have the space, equipment, and hardware in place? If we return the units, can we put them away? If we focus all labor on production, will inventory kill us a week later?

I appreciate how the leaders in the warehouse have come together, prioritized pain points, and shared resources to make it happen! Meanwhile as we continue to grow, we are working to be more proactive and less reactive to each challenge.

Shoutout to Abby for wearing many hats to support business needs. She frequently rode in, in shining armor, to drop off new employees to save us on multiple occasions! Appreciate YOU!

Shout out to Alendy who never sleeps! She lives and breathes Nadine West and while we need her to sleep, I appreciate her dedication to always ensuring there is coverage for her team day or night and pressing on no matter what! LOVE it!

Shout out to Laura for being an Inbound encyclopedia. She really knows her business! Not only is she a great source of information but she is always ready to give honest and insightful feedback, which I welcome and appreciate. Thank YOU!

BIG shout out to Kineta for always finding time to celebrate her team! It is evident she understands the importance of holding her team accountable through KPI tracking. While, she also knows a team that feels valued and appreciated will work harder! Plus, she just really cares! The PM crew was given a major project last week and she powered ahead while still finding time to throw a baby shower for someone on her team! So CUTE!

4. BUYING TEAM UPDATE

Emmie writes:

The buying team has been ordering thousands of units more than ever! The buyers (Lanny, Vern, Madelaine, Anna) have been doing a great job asking for discounts from vendors and preparing custom orders of our NCE as well as non-NCE apparels and jewelries 😀

We are also currently fixing our data entry processes so our inventory becomes better.

And we are so happy and thankful that Alana’s and Haley’s custom orders in unique colors and prints are now underway!

Shoutout to the whole buying team for being very resilient and adaptable to any changes! You all make sure to ask the right questions and give suggestions that will help improve our processes!

Shoutout to Pam and Rosemarie for always making sure that our final data entries and discrepancy reports are as accurate as possible!

Shoutout to Anna for being an awesome team leader!! Your ability to quickly learn new processes and come up with great ideas never cease to amaze me! Your dedication and commitment to the team continues to inspire me. I am soo grateful for having a partner that encourages me when I doubt myself and pushes me to become better in what I do. Thank you for being by my side! <3

Shoutout to Vanessa for kicking ass in all tasks assigned to her despite joining our team only a month ago!! We hope that you’ll be here with us for the long haul 🙂

Thank you team! <3

5. ENGINEERING AND DATA TEAMS UPDATE

Engineering team lead Miha is knee deep in OMS work, so I’ll write a quick update.

Shout-out to our amazing software engineers. Miha, Dmitry, Marat, Joe, Elmira . We’re so grateful for the improvements you make to OMS every day!  We would be nothing without this software platform, so thank you.

Special shout-out to Xavier, for all the high-level guidance and words of wisdom. You’re like our Morpheus. Or Mr. Miyagi. Whichever you prefer.

As for the data team, thanks to everyone for giving Sidney and Meredith data-driven answers to their never-ending questions. Elena, Yegor, Ludovic, Francisco, JuliaYou. Your insights guide all our business and engineering decisions and, therefore, directly impact every single person at Nadine West.
